Welcome to Term 4 2008.

Term started with a great Calf and Lamb Day on Saturday. The PTA did a wonderful job organising the event and it was credit that we had so many lambs this year! Craig from the Stratford Vets came to school and spoke to the children.

Swimming in town has started again!. We head into town on a Tuesday and a Thursday for about 1 and 1/2 hours. Children are either in the pool or playing tabloid sports outside. We pay extra to have instructors in the pool with the children. I think that this makes the difference in the quality of instruction and therefore the improved swimming skills of the children.

The gardening unit is going well. I'm "blogging" this elsewhere. Basically each classroom has an area. Seeds that were planted last term have developed into seedlings that are now being planted! Looks good.

Congratulations to Robbie H for winning the Toko Lions Young Speech Makers competition! His topic was King Henry the 6th! He did an outstanding job of the impromptu speech. Well done.
Good luck in Hawera and also next week at Pembroke School.
