Welcome
to Term 4 2007
flickr
Well, managing school photos can be a big job ..I'm just experimenting
with the use of flickr as a storage house and an access point for
Toko School photos. What do you think? Please note that you are leaving
the school web site to view these photos, and therefore beyond the
Toko School flickr page I can't guarantee the content.
Toko School teachers head to Auckland to the ULearn 07 conference
on Tuesday the 2nd. Check out the conference.
We are all really looking forward to it!
Blogging and school links
Out of the ULearn conference we have had an "explosion" of Blogging.
Here are some keen sites to keep up with!!
http://room3tokotaranaki.blogspot.com/
Check out what room 3 have been up to lately
http://room5toko.blogspot.com/
Check out what Room 5 have been up to lately
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tokoschool/ Check out some of the latest photos. It is cheaper, easier and easier
to put school photos here. But it is not the Toko School web site so
be careful.

Check out eh podcasting that is going on! I think podcasting is terrific
and we have some neat examples!!
Calf and Lamb day
Another neat Toko School calf and Lamb Day . A huge thank you to the
PTA and the Fundraising Committee who both work so hard to make this
day a success. Here are some pix
Swimming
The children have been swimming twice weekly at the TSB pool, for the first
4 weeks of the school term. This is clearly benefiting the children's swimming
ability. This time we spent little more money and hired tuition for
the pools. It is making a real difference
Speech Competitions
One of the early events on the calendar was the Toko Lions Speech
Contest. Congratulations to Georgia who won this and Olivia who came
third. An
awesome achievement! The next Monday the same children went to the
inter school competition between the rural group. Guess what! Georgia
won this one as well! Huge success!
Production Development
Preparations ar well underway for the end of year school production. The
children in the senior class all having speaking lines! Most are making
excellent progress learning their lines off by heart! This is essential
and at the end of week 5 is needed to allow time to really start acting.
Life Education Bus
The Life Education Bus was here the week of November the 14th of November.
Again this was well worthwhile with a range of topics for each class.
Squash Court
The mobile squash Court was here for the entire week. Kids love this
annual event!
Mountain Camp
Lots of preparation has been going on for our EOTC Week. All classes
are involved. Rooms 4 and 3 are staying up the mountain and Rooms 1
and 2 are staying over night at school. Awesome fun.
Tabloid Sport
On Monday the 19th we all went to Midhirst School for a fun day of Tabloid
Sports. What a beautiful sunny day. Lots of fun and the kids knew their
games well and competed in a friendly competition.
Volleyball
We entered a team into the Volley Ball competition and the first night
was Monday the 18th. Eight very happy kids having fun at the TET with
just about as many mums upstairs too!
End of Year Production
We had our three concerts of Tom and Huckleberry.
One for Schools on Wednesday the 12th Community
13th and family 14th. It was very successful. An enormous amount of work went
into the preparations.. but a quality result at the end. Good photos
available on flickr.
Rising Star Award
Our end of year award has been revamped to the Rising Star award. It
was donated by the Jager family.
Nathan Weir won this award and of course also received the Guinness Book
of records as well! Well done Nathan.
This years leavers were:
Madison, Makayla, Georgia, Brian, Nathan, Ethan, Nicole, Sally, Frank,
Nicholas, Elysse, Victoria, Stein, and Brooke ( know I have elft someone
out and will check later!!)
Awesome kids heading off to high school... very well prepared!
Well it has been a very abbreviated Events Page this term. Just got
too busy to keep everything going!! But will endeavor to do a more thorough
job in 2008!
