Review and Analysis of Variance
School Master
Teachers at Toko School have made significant improvements in their use
of School Master. There is still wide variation on how it is used. For
example. All teachers are planning using the software, but not all teachers
are assessing.
All teachers are able to make lists and reports that link to classroom
usage.
Improved Learning.
I was always very skeptical on whether SM could make a difference to
children’s learning and I still hold this opinion. It is however,
a compact and effective way to store assessment and planning and access
to this , if you have developed sufficient knowledge.
Literacy Reading
This was very significant PD for Richard,
Megan and Charlaine. These three had good release to attend meetings run
by Andrea Harding. Its
focus was clear and as I said, for the teachers involved there was significant
impact on teacher behaviour.
The flow through to other staff was planned for and was successful. But
couldn't’t compete with the face to face sessions we were having.
We have had excellent staff meetings around the content… basically
teachers practice, in the room, minute by minute!
Out of this significant school wide changes have occurred to planning
and targeting of children
Changes to testing and getting useful information out of AsTTle.
Changes to the school curriculum documentation.
Reading Recovery
Judy has been replaced by Vicki who will continue her training at Toko
School from term 3. Sadly Judy resigned around mid year for family
reasons. Vicki continued in her place There was however, a break to
the consistency of the program and the availability of training. Less
than perfect, but we made the best of a difficult situation.
3 Doors Training.
This was very successful for those involved!
Scott, Charlaine, Richard, Megan. Kelly didn’t do it as she had
a substantial study load. This has created variation, the one thing I
was attempting to eliminate.
In 2008 I hope to repeat the process with all teachers included in the
raining. It has highlighted that a school wide system of inquiry is actually
everyone thinking the same, and that this is not always easy!
PDPC
This as a significant opportunity as the report indicates!
PPLG Principals Professional Learning Group with local Principals.
Meeting at regular intervals with Kelvin Stratford Primary, Liz Eltham
Primary, Warren Stratford High School, Rae, St Josephs Stratford has
been a privilege. All very capable and hardworking passionate people.
Our 4 meetings over the year were great opportunities for Professional
Development
CTEAL Leader 2007
It was a successful year for the CTREAL of which I was President! I look
forward to another year and perhaps te development of a EHSAS application.
EOTC AND PE AND PA
Over the course of the year Kelly rewrote the health Plan.
The EOTC Plan
The PE and PA guidelines. These are all significant improvements to the
existing documentation. It is all the ore important with the changes
to the NAG’s I am very pleased with the level of commitment and
personal challenge that this showed.
ULEARN
What an amazing opportunity for all! We all came back buzzing. I guess
the proof of the pudding will be the IT integration in 2008!
Certainly at the end of 2007 there were, blogs and wikis, and a completely
renewed energy in the integration of IT within the classrooms.
